Dedicated to the growth, preservation, maintenance and recreational use of the historic Iditarod Trail system between Knik and Skwentna, Alaska

Anything is possible when you combine a great idea with passionate people committed to turning visions into reality...

The Knik Iditarod Trail Blazers seek to advance our mission through:
  • expanding the scope and delivery of trail improvements, maintenance, and access including turning the winter-use only trail into a trail for all-seasons
  • promoting the trail to diverse users such as cross country skiers, fat tire bikers, mushers, and hikers
  • hosting and supporting other organizations to hold trail-related races, events and activities
  • educating youth and the public on the trail’s significance and uses for future posterity through experiential opportunities
  • working effectively with local/state/federal organizations, residents, and like-minded recreational groups to maintain the integrity and best interest of the trail
  • obtaining funding that allows these initiatives to be implemented effectively and efficiently.

Do you love the freedom and exhilaration of being on a trail? Do you like the idea of leaving that legacy to future generations? If so, join us by becoming a member or volunteering your time, treasure or talents.
